Draft surveys
By comparing the draft measurements of the vessel before and after the cargo operation, we can accurately determine the weight of the transhipped cargo. Standardized by the UNECE, it involves reading the seagoing ship’s draft at specific points and making corrections for trim, water density, and non-cargo weight. Similar to sea-going vessel draft surveys, barge gauging determines material weight changes for inland river motor/push barges. Draft surveys are solely conducted by our highly qualified draft surveyors.
