Job offer: Surveyor/goods inspector

Our Cargo Supervision department consists exclusively of specialists of the following commodities:

• Dry bulk: Agri-commodities; cereals, oil seeds, rice, etc…
• Liquids: Edible and animal oils
• Dry & liquid fertilizers

To strengthen our team in the Netherlands, we are looking for a:

Surveyor/goods inspector  (M/F)

Job responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the follow-up of cargo and unloading operations of ships
• You take samples of the cargo (oils/grains/any other commodities)
• You perform quality analyses on these samples
• You take care of the weight determination
• You carry out surveys in the ports of Rotterdam & Amsterdam and by extension throughout Belgium.

Job requirements:

• Degree HBO
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch & English language, basic German is a plus
• Mathematical knowledge for cargo determination
• Ideally, you have a maritime background
• Experience (minimum of 2 years) in a similar working environment is an extra benefit
• You are in possession of a driving license B
• You are familiar with working with the current Office packages (Outlook, Excel, Word…)
• You have a no-nonsense mentality and want to do your job with passion
• You are socially skilled and have a good sense of responsibility
• You are reliable, loyal, customer-friendly and a true team player
• You can organize well and can carry out your tasks independently
• You don’t have a nine to five mentality as this job includes irregular hours including night/weekend work
